Scope

This standard specifies MOVs for low-voltage electrical appliances: - Definition; - Classification; - Rated value; - Conditions of use; - Technical requirements; - Test methods; - Inspection rules. This standard applies to metal oxide varistors (hereinafter referred to as MOV) for electrical equipment with an AC voltage not exceeding 1 000 V (effective value), 50/60 Hz and/or a DC voltage not exceeding 1 500 V, used to suppress Instantaneous overvoltage to protect the safety of electrical equipment. Metal oxide varistors for low-voltage surge protectors shall meet the requirements of GB/T 18802.331.
