Scope: This standard specifies the equipment, samples, test procedures, calculations, test results and test reports for determining the density and relative density of fiber reinforced plastics by buoyancy method and geometric method. This standard applies to the determination of the density and relative density of fiber-reinforced plastics in the form of plates, rods, tubes and molded samples. It includes two test methods of buoyancy method and geometric method. The buoyancy method is suitable for materials with weak hygroscopicity, and the geometric method is suitable for materials with strong hygroscopicity. It can be selected according to the characteristics of the material and the agreement of the parties concerned. This standard is not applicable to materials with a density less than 1000kg/m³.
