Scope
This standard specifies the relevant requirements for safe entry and cleaning operations of flammable and explosive petroleum storage tanks in the petroleum industry from out of service to put into use. This standard is applicable to the cleaning of above-ground normal pressure and low pressure (up to 0.1MPa) petroleum storage tanks in all aspects of crude oil and natural gas production, oil depots, and pipeline terminals in the petroleum industry. This standard does not apply to the following types of storage tanks or containers:  ——Pressure vessels. —Cryogenic freezing, refrigeration containers or storage tanks. — Containers or tanks under vacuum. —Containers on process equipment. —Underground storage tanks.
