Scope: This standard specifies acceptance levels for the indication of penetrant testing for imperfections in metallic welds. This standard is intended primarily for manufacturing inspections, but may also be used for in-service inspections if deemed appropriate. The acceptance level in this standard is based on the detection ability expected to be achieved by adopting the methods specified in GB/T 18851.1 and the parameters recommended in Appendix A. The acceptance level is related to welding standards, application standards, technical conditions or regulations, etc. Further information on the acceptance levels shown can be found in the product or application standard.
