Scope: This standard specifies the technology for detecting surface defects of ferromagnetic material welds (including heat-affected zones) by using magnetic particle testing methods. Among them, Appendix A describes the factors related to the basic technology that can provide higher or lower detection sensitivity. This standard applies to most welding processes and joint constructions. This standard does not deal with the acceptance level shown. Information on the acceptance levels shown can be found in GB/T 26952 or in product or application standards.
