Scope
WARNING: Personnel using this standard should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. This standard does not address all possible safety issues. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and ensure compliance with the conditions stipulated in the relevant national laws and regulations. This standard specifies two methods for determining the organic chlorine content of crude oil. Includes Method A - Sodium Biphenyl Reduction Potential Titration and Method B - Combustion Oxidation Microcoulometry. This standard applies to the determination of crude oil with an organic chlorine content greater than 1 μg/g. Among them, method B is not applicable to crude oil with total sulfur content greater than 10,000 times the organic chlorine content.
