This standard specifies the method for direct determination of water content in crude oil by Trankal Fischer potentiometric titration. This standard is applicable to the determination of water content in crude oil. For crude oil with a mass fraction of mercaptan sulfur or divalent sulfide ion sulfur or the total of the two, the mass fraction of water content in the determination range is 0.05% % to 2.00%; for crude oil whose mass fraction is less than 0.005% in mercaptan sulfur or divalent sulfide ion sulfur, or the total amount of both, the mass fraction in the determination range of water content is 0.02% to 2.00%.
