Scope

This part specifies the requirements for visual, auditory and tactile indication of relevant safety information to exposed personnel at the man-machine interface. This part specifies colors, safety signs, markings and other warning methods, which are designed to indicate dangerous states, endanger health and deal with accidents. To facilitate the safe use and monitoring of machinery, methods for encoding visual, audible and tactile signals used by indicators and actuators are also specified. This part is based on IEC 60073 with color and replacement method coding, but not limited to the electrotechnical field.
