This standard specifies the requirements for visual, auditory and tactile indication of relevant safety information to exposed personnel at the man-machine interface. It prescribes colors, safety signs, markings and other warning methods, and is designed to indicate dangerous conditions, endanger health and deal with accidents. To facilitate the safe use and monitoring of machinery, the method of coding visual, audible and tactile signals used by indicators and operating elements is also specified. This standard is based on IEC 60073 with color and substitution method coding, but not limited to the electrotechnical field.
