This standard specifies the basic principles and requirements for patient protection and quality assurance in teletherapy. This standard applies to the practice of using medical electron accelerators and medical γ-ray devices for external beam therapy and X, γ-ray stereotactic radiotherapy and other teletherapy practices, and does not apply to the treatment practice of deep X-ray therapy machines.
