Scope: This standard specifies the test methods for trivalent chromium electroplating solutions and the technical requirements for trivalent chromium coatings. It also stipulates the detection method of trivalent chromium in trivalent chromium electroplating solution and the verification method of hexavalent chromium. This standard is applicable to trivalent chromium electroplating chromium combination coatings for decorative protective copper + nickel + chromium and nickel + chromium electroplating.
