Scope

This standard specifies the basic technical requirements, rating levels, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of DC contactors for rolling stock. The DC contactors referred to in this standard are DC electro-pneumatic contactors and DC electromagnetic contactors. This standard applies to DC contactors (hereinafter referred to as contactors) with rated voltages up to 3000V and rated currents up to 3150A used in the main circuits, auxiliary circuits and control circuits of rolling stock (including EMUs). For special contactors for other purposes on locomotives, users and manufacturers of contactors can refer to this standard.
