Scope: This guiding technical document stipulates the statistics of lightning damage of wind turbines, the risk assessment of damage caused by lightning to wind turbine blades, bearings, gearboxes, electrical and control systems, lightning protection, grounding requirements and personnel safety. This guiding technical document is applicable to the lightning protection of wind turbines with a swept area greater than or equal to 200 m'* horizontal axis, and other types of wind turbines can also be used as a reference.
