- This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificate and contract (or order form) content of artificial rutile. This standard applies to artificial rutile products produced from ilmenite as raw material by pre-oxidation, weak reduction acid leaching or strong reduction rusting, as well as to the production of refined titanium tetrachloride and artificial rutile products used for welding electrode coatings. Artificial rutile produced by other methods can be implemented as a reference.
