Scope: This standard specifies the relevant terms and definitions, principles, reagents, instruments and equipment for the determination of 15 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in animal and vegetable oils by high performance liquid chromatography, pretreatment methods for general animal and vegetable oils, coconut oil and vegetable oils containing short-chain fatty acids The pretreatment method, high performance liquid chromatography analysis, result presentation and precision. This standard applies to the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in general animal and vegetable oils, coconut oil and vegetable oils containing short-chain fatty acids. This standard is not applicable to the quantitative analysis of highly volatile components such as naphthalene, acenaphthene and fluorene, and the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in palm oil and olive pomace oil. The quantitative detection limit of fluoranthene and benzo(g,h,i)perylene was O.3 μg/kg. The quantitative detection limit of indeno(1,2,3-c,d)pyrene is 1 µg/kg. Quantitative detection limits of other PAHs were O. 2 µg/kg.
