YY/T 0734.1-2009 (English Version) PDF

Scope: This part of YY/T 0734 specifies the general requirements, term definitions and tests for automatically controlled washer-disinfectors and their accessories. This section applies to washer-disinfectors that clean and disinfect reusable medical instruments and items in medical institutions, pharmaceuticals, veterinary medicine and other fields. The requirements and tests for washer-disinfectors handling special loads are specified by other parts of YY/T 0734 or other standards. This section does not apply to cleaning and disinfection equipment used in the laundry or catering industries. This section also does not apply to equipment that sterilizes loads or is designated as a "sterilizer", the requirements for which are specified in other standards, such as: GB 8599-2008. The performance requirements specified in this section may not ensure the inactivation or removal of the causative factor (prion protein) of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy.
