GB/T 20935.3-2009 Method of electromagnetic acoustic inspection for metal materials.Part 3:Standard test method for ultrasonic surface examinations using electromagnetic acoustic transducer(EMAT)techniques (English Version)
This part of GB/T 20935 introduces the method of using electromagnetic ultrasonic transducer technology to detect discontinuities (such as cracks, cracks, folds, cold shuts, delamination, leaks, and lack of fusion) on the surface of materials. The method is also sensitive to detection of near-surface defects and discontinuities in the range of Rayleigh wave wavelengths less than or equal to the surface. This section describes a non-contact inspection technique that uses electromagnetic fields to generate ultrasonic waves in materials. This method is applicable to all materials that can generate sound waves by electromagnetic methods, including conductive materials, ferromagnetic materials and ferromagnetic conductive materials. This section does not address safety issues related to use. It is the user's responsibility to formulate beneficial safety and health procedures and determine their scope of application before use.
