Scope: WARNING: Personnel using this standard should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. This standard does not address all possible safety issues. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and ensure compliance with relevant national regulations. This standard specifies the test method and evaluation method for surface cracking of rubber samples aged under static strain conditions. This standard applies to the aging test of rubber placed in the atmosphere or ozone-containing medium under static tension or bending. This standard does not apply to electrical insulating materials or rubber parts exposed to high concentrations of ozone due to discharge; nor does it apply to hard rubber.
