Scope: This standard specifies the measurement methods for the acoustic performance and aerodynamic (gas dynamic) performance of exhaust mufflers for internal combustion engines. At the same time, the requirements for measuring instruments, measuring conditions and measuring positions, and the calculation methods of exhaust noise surface sound pressure level and sound power level are given. This standard engineering method can be used for acceptance testing. This standard is applicable to the test of mufflers for medium and small power internal combustion engines within the application scope of GB/T 6072.1, and mufflers for other purposes (including intake mufflers) that do not have a suitable national standard can also be used as a reference.
