Scope
This standard specifies the performance requirements and test methods for bandpass filters obtained by analog, sampled data and digital methods that make up filter banks or spectrum analyzers. For all filters of a given bandwidth, the passband range determined by the relative attenuation characteristics of the filters is a constant percentage of the center frequency. Instruments complying with the requirements of this standard may contain any number of bandpass filters covering any desired frequency range. This standard gives the performance requirements of three grades of filters, grade 0, grade 1 and grade 2, and its tolerance increases with the increase of grades. Band-pass filters that meet the performance requirements of this standard can be part of various measurement systems or a complete part of a certain instrument, and can work in real time. Instruments complying with the requirements of this standard are capable of providing band-filtered spectra for a variety of signals, for example, time-varying, intermittent and steady-state signals; broadband and discrete frequencies, and long-duration and short-duration signals Information. Different implementations of filters meeting the requirements of this standard may give different results in applications involving transient signals.
