Scope: This part of GB/T 4797 gives information about the environmental conditions under natural earthquake vibration and shock. Its purpose is to define some basic properties and characteristic quantities of earthquakes in order to provide background material for products that may be subjected to these conditions during storage and use. Accelerations are given only for ground conditions. Structural conditions are mentioned, but are limited to descriptions of general conditions.
