Scope: This part proposes the terms and definitions of electrical equipment hot surface burn risk assessment, burn risk assessment, burn threshold, protective measures and documents, etc. This part puts forward risk assessment guidance for various types of electrical equipment with AC rated voltage of 1000V and below and DC rated voltage of 1500V and below, which may be caused by the hot surface of the equipment in contact with the human body; at the same time, it proposes the potential burn risk , general principles for taking protective measures, and selection of burn thresholds. This section does not apply to the surfaces of the following types of electrical equipment: thermally functional surfaces; adjacent surfaces; joysticks, control knobs (including keypads, keyboards, etc.); surfaces that cannot be touched.
