Scope
This standard is applicable to measuring temperature in the range of 75K ~ 2800K, when the thermal diffusivity is 10-7m2/s~10-3m2/s Homogeneous isotropic solid material. This standard is applicable to the test of opaque materials with energy pulse spectrum, and also applicable to the determination of thermal diffusivity of samples of completely or partially light-transmitting materials after pretreatment (see Appendix A for details). This method is suitable for materials that are completely dense in nature. However, in some cases satisfactory results can be obtained when applied to porous materials. Since porosity, pore shape, size, and pore distribution characteristics affect the diffusion behavior of the material, care must be taken when analyzing the data. For the application of this method to determine the thermal conductivity of materials, this standard also puts forward special precautions.
