Scope
This standard specifies laboratory test methods for determining the resistance of protective clothing materials to penetration by blood-borne pathogens. This test method uses a suspension containing a surrogate microorganism. The "pass/fail" test of protective clothing uses the test equipment specified in YY 0699 to measure the virus penetration ability under a specific hydrostatic pressure. This test method may not be effective for thicker, lined protective clothing materials that are prone to absorbing test liquids. Some test steps in this test method are highly sensitive. Since this method requires completion time, this method is not suitable as a quality control or assurance procedure for protective clothing or protective clothing materials.
