Scope

This standard specifies the definition and symbols, symbols, principles, test devices and requirements, sample preparation, device calibration, measurement procedures, calculation of measurement results, test reports, accuracy and deviation, etc. of measurement methods for thermal expansion characteristic parameters of metal materials and other related solid materials. This standard specifies the use of push rod dilatometers to detect the linear thermal expansion of rigid solid materials, which is applicable to the detection of metal materials in the temperature range of -180 ° C to 900 ° C by means of components composed of the same type of fused silica carrier and push rods. It is also suitable for the detection of linear thermal expansion of samples with rigid solid characteristics such as ceramics, refractory materials, glass, and rocks; if high-purity alumina components are used instead, the detection temperature range can be extended to 1600 ° C; Switching to isotropic graphite can expand to 2500°C.
