Scope

This standard specifies the ion-exchange column chromatography for the separation and determination of different forms of phosphate in sodium tripolyphosphate (pentasodium triphosphate) for industrial use. This standard is applicable to the determination of the content of orthophosphate, pyrophosphate, tripolyphosphate and trimetaphosphate, and also applicable to the estimation of the total content of polyphosphate in the absence of tetrametaphosphate and pentametaphosphate.
