Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the apparent density of industrial sodium tripolyphosphate powder by measuring the mass of a given volume of powder. This standard applies to free-flowing powders and, when a suitable funnel is used, also to powders which have a tendency to agglomerate. This standard also applies to other powdery or granular materials. If the powder contains agglomerates, this standard is only applicable if the agglomerates are easy to loosen without breaking the particles of the powder.
