- This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, marking, packaging and transportation of steam injection devices used in distillation seawater desalination units. This standard applies to two types of steam injection devices such as vapor compression injection pumps and steam injection vacuum pumps used in seawater desalination equipment such as multi-effect distillation, mechanical pressure steam distillation, and multi-stage flash evaporation.
