Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for site selection, plant planning, seawater pretreatment, engineering design, product water quality, concentrated brine, cooling water and cleaning fluid discharge for distillation seawater desalination projects. This standard applies to the design of new and expanded seawater desalination projects using distillation.
