- This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, labeling, storage and transportation of food additive potassium sorbate. This standard applies to the production, inspection and sale of food additive potassium sorbate prepared by reacting sorbic acid and potassium carbonate (or potassium hydroxide) with water as a solvent. This product is used as a food preservative in food processing.
