Scope: This standard specifies the ultrasonic testing method and quality classification for circumferential butt welded joints of steel pipelines. This standard applies to the ultrasonic testing of circumferential butt welded joints of steel pressure pipelines with a wall thickness greater than or equal to 15 mm to 120 mm and a nominal diameter greater than or equal to 159 mm. This standard does not apply to ultrasonic testing of circumferential butt welded joints of cast steel and austenitic stainless steel pipes.
