This part of GB 13539 applies to fuses equipped with enclosed current-limiting fuse-links with rated breaking capacity not less than 6kA. The fuse is used to protect AC power frequency circuits with a nominal voltage not exceeding 1000V or DC circuits with a nominal voltage not exceeding 1500V. Supplementary requirements for fuses used in special conditions are included in the continuation of this part of the standard. The fuses used in GB 14048.3 "Low-voltage switchgear and control equipment - Part 3: Switches, isolators, disconnectors and fuse combinations" should also meet the requirements of this part. The purpose of this standard is to specify the characteristics of fuses or fuse-parts (fuse-bases, fuse-carriers, fuse-links) which, if they are interchangeable (including dimensions, etc.), can be replaced by fuses or fuse parts to interchange. For this purpose, this standard deals in particular with the following aspects: Fuse characteristics: rated value; insulation; temperature rise under normal use; dissipated power and accepted dissipated power; time/current characteristics; breaking capacity; I2t characteristics. Type tests to verify the characteristics of fuses; marking of fuses.
