This standard specifies two methods for the determination of moisture and volatile matter content in animal and vegetable fats and oils: - Method A, using a sand bath or electric heating plate. - Method B, using a drying cabinet. Method A of this standard is applicable to all animal and vegetable oils, and method B is only applicable to non-drying animal and vegetable oils with an acid value less than 4. This standard does not apply to the analysis of laurel oil.
