This standard specifies the requirements for ultrasonic testing of forged and rolled steel bars, testing methods and testing procedures, evaluation of testing results, quality grades, records and reports. This standard is applicable to ultrasonic (longitudinal wave or transverse wave) pulse reflection method (contact method or liquid immersion method) to detect forged steel bars with diameter (thickness) of 12mm ~ 250mm. Other forged bars can also be used for reference. This standard does not apply to austenitic coarse-grained steel rods.
