Scope

This standard specifies the instrument calibration and application rules for detecting the change and damage of the metal cross-sectional area of ferromagnetic steel wire ropes by means of electromagnetic, magnetic flux, magnetic flux leakage and residual magnetic methods. If agreed by the parties to the contract, this standard can be applied to all kinds of ferromagnetic steel wire ropes.
