Scope: This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation, storage, and safety of industrial chloroform. This standard applies to the production, inspection and sale of chloroform produced by the methanol hydrochlorination process. The product is mainly used in the manufacture of refrigerants, as well as solvents, extractants, pharmaceutical and dye intermediates, etc. Molecular formula: CHCl₃. Relative molecular mass: 119.378 (according to the international relative atomic mass in 2005).
