This standard specifies the general requirements, detection methods, defect grade classification and detection reports for ultrasonic testing of valve forged steel parts using A-type pulse reflection ultrasonic flaw detector to detect workpiece defects. This standard applies to ultrasonic testing of carbon steel and low alloy steel forgings. This standard does not apply to ultrasonic testing of austenitic stainless steel forgings and valve products or raw materials such as pipes, steel plates, and welds.
