This standard specifies the acoustic performance, test methods and evaluation criteria of alarms for earth-moving machinery, in order to prevent people from being injured by potential dangers when the self-propelled machine is moving (forward or backward). This test is carried out under the fixed condition of the machine. The alarm performance of the machine concerned is a combined function of the design of the alarm, the ambient conditions, the alarm voltage and the arrangement on the machine relative to the machine parts. This test method examines the audible alarm produced by these combined factors. This standard applies to earth-moving machinery defined in GB/T 8498.
