This standard gives radiation workers the conversion factors for committed effective doses of inhaled radioactive aerosols of two particle sizes, from which the corresponding annual intake limits can be calculated. This standard applies to workplaces where radioactive aerosols may exist in the space where radiation workers are located, and serves as the basis for evaluating the degree of radioactive aerosol pollution in the air and estimating the inhalation hazards of internal exposure. Estimation of internal exposure doses of adults in the public due to inhalation of artificial radioactive aerosols in the environment can also be used as a reference. This standard is not applicable to assess the hazards caused by inhalation of radon progeny in the workplace.
