1.1 This standard specifies the hot wire method for determining the thermal conductivity of refractory materials. 1.2 The cross hot wire method is suitable for measuring refractory materials whose temperature is not greater than 1 250°C, thermal conductivity is less than 1.5W (m·K), and thermal diffusivity is not greater than 10-6m/s. 1.3 The parallel hot wire method is suitable for measuring refractory materials with a temperature not greater than 1 250°C and a thermal conductivity less than 25W/(m·K). 1.4 Within the scope specified in 1.2 and 1.3, this standard also applies to powder and granular materials.
