Scope

This standard specifies the basic technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and custody of electrical equipment for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles. This standard applies to electrical equipment for motor vehicles (cars, tractors, construction machinery, low-speed trucks, three-wheeled vehicles) and internal combustion engines. Ships and other similar machinery may also be adopted by reference.
