Scope
This part of YY 0573 specifies the characteristics and performance of single-use sterile syringes with or without needles made of plastic materials and stainless steel for aspiration or injection immediately after vaccination. The syringe automatically expires upon delivery of a fixed vaccine dose. This section does not specify the design requirements for self-destruction characteristics, which are determined by the manufacturer. This section does not apply to insulin syringes (specified in YY 0497-2005), glass syringes (specified in ISO 595), syringes with power-driven syringe pumps (specified in ISO 7886-2), non-fixed doses self-destructing syringes and prefilled syringes. Compatibility of injectable solutions/vaccines is not covered in this standard.
