This standard specifies the methods for determining the acidity in animal and vegetable oils (two titration methods and one potentiometer method), and the acidity is usually expressed by acid value. In this standard, the hot ethylene determination method is the reference method, and the cold solution method is suitable for light-colored oils. This standard does not apply to waxes.
