- This standard specifies the principles, testing methods, requirements and preparation of comparative samples, testing equipment and commissioning, testing conditions and procedures, evaluation of results, testing reports, etc. for ultrasonic testing of low-magnification structures and defects of steel. This standard is applicable to the ultrasonic inspection of low-magnification structures and defects of rolled and forged steel products (billets) with simple cross-sections such as square, rectangular, and circular. It is also suitable for defect inspection of other steel preparations and blanks.
