Scope

This standard applies to electric vehicle charging equipment with a maximum nominal voltage of 660V for AC and a maximum nominal voltage for tributaries of 1000V (according to GB 156-1993). This standard applies to equipment for charging electric road vehicles. This standard does not apply to charging equipment for engine starting, lighting and ignition devices or similar purposes, household or other similar battery charging systems. This standard also does not apply to charging equipment for non-road battery charging systems such as wheelchairs, indoor electric vehicles, trams, trolleybuses, railway vehicles, and industrial trucks (such as forklifts). This standard does not involve Class II vehicles. This standard specifies the basic structural requirements for charging equipment, that is, the requirements for the characteristics of the connection between the power supply device and the vehicle and the operating environment; the technical requirements for the charging equipment and the characteristics that the electric vehicle should have for this requirement; the requirements for the power supply voltage and current.
