- Scope
- This standard specifies the dimensions, requirements and test methods of 6% (Luer) conical locking connectors used for syringes, injection needles and other medical devices (such as infusion equipment). The requirements of this standard apply to rigid and semi-rigid conical joints and include test methods, but are not specified for more flexible or elastic materials. NOTE 1 Although it is difficult to precisely define the properties of rigid or semi-rigid materials, glass and metals can often be considered as typical rigid materials. In contrast, many plastics can be considered semi-rigid materials. 2 Luer lock fittings are designed for use at 300kPa or less.
