Scope

This standard specifies a centrifugal separation method for the determination of sediment content in crude oil. This standard applies to crude oil produced by leaching or pressing methods with a sediment content ranging from 0.03 mL/100 g to 15 mL/100 g. This method is not applicable to lipids that are not liquid at 20°C.
