Scope

This standard applies to capacitor units and capacitor banks specially used to improve the power factor of AC power systems with a nominal voltage above 1kV and a frequency of 15-60Hz. This standard also applies to capacitors used in power filter circuits. Additional definitions, requirements and tests for filter capacitors are given in Appendix B. Additional requirements for capacitors protected by internal fuses and requirements for internal fuses are given in GB/T 11024.4. The requirements for capacitors protected by external fuses and for external fuses are given in Annex C. This standard does not apply to high voltage capacitors consisting of self-healing low voltage capacitors. Additional definitions, requirements and tests for self-healing capacitors are given in GB/T 12747. This standard also does not apply to the following capacitors: - capacitors for induction heating devices operating at frequencies from 4 to 24000 Hz; - series capacitors for power systems; - capacitors for electric motors and the like; - coupling capacitors and capacitive voltage dividers ——Non-self-healing shunt capacitors for AC power systems with a nominal voltage of 1kV and below; ——Small AC capacitors for fluorescent lamps and discharge lamps; ——Capacitors used in power electronic circuits; ——Capacitors for microwave ovens; —— Capacitors for radio interference suppression; - capacitors intended to be used under AC voltage superimposed with DC voltage. All accessories, such as insulators, switches, instrument transformers, external fuses, etc., should meet the corresponding standards.
