Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of vanadium content by ferrous ammonium sulfate titration. This standard applies to the determination of 0.100% (m/m) to 3.50% (m/m) vanadium content in steel and alloys. This standard does not apply to samples containing more than 20% (m/m) of cobalt, more than 0.01% (m/m) of cerium and more than 20% (m/m) of chromium and more than 20% (m/m) of manganese m) or determination of vanadium content in samples containing more than 18% (m/m) of tungsten and less than 0.4% (m/m) of vanadium
