- Part 2 of this standard specifies the method for measuring the acidity of the gas released from the components of the cable or optical cable when it is burned. NOTE 1 The relevant electrical or optical cable standard shall state the composition of the electrical or optical cable to be tested and the calculation method to be used in case of disputes (see Clause 8). 2 The term "cable" in this standard refers to all cables with insulated metal conductors for the transmission of power and signals.
